Throw-Back At A Date With The Royals And The Jewels They Wore!
By now the media has left no stone unturned on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge maiden visit to India. As we know, on their first day in Mumbai, they were treated to a ‘desi’ dinner which was attended by the crème de la crème in society. The star-studded event at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel is still so fresh with the town’s businessmen and celebrities flocking their presence. As interesting were their ensembles, we throw back on who wore what jewels at the charity gala night.

Prince William looked dapper in a crisp black tuxedo while Kate Middleton wore an embellished royal blue gown by one of her favorite British designer, Jenny Packham with a matching clutch and The Oh So Royal Blue! Lapiz earrings studded with diamonds designed by an Indian Jeweller, Amrapali. In our opinion the black rhodium made the earrings look very Victorian and stylish.
ALIA BHATT

We’re not surprised with Alia Bhatt’s off-shoulder, sweetheart neckline short dress. She chose a mid-length, flared, floral dress and stuck to her youth-like-style in a room full of floor grazing gowns. What we are surprised, rather loved is her minimalist makeup and no accessories.
JACQUELINE FERNANDEZ

Jaqueline looked like royalty herself, in a stunning off shoulder red and gold Manish Malhotra flowy gown. The scalloped neckline left ample scope for a large neck-piece, however, she wisely chose to leave the necklace at home and opted for octagonal shaped antique looking danglers with a center stones. And yes don’t miss the three stationed finger ring on her index finger.
SHILPA SHETTY

Standing tall, definitely adds an oomph to her petite figure. Mastering the art of elegant dressing in 7 mins right after disembarking a flight would have lip-sealed many of us that take longer and still may not match up. Dressed in a Monisha Jaisingh saree, she donned a diamond and multi gemstone necklace from one of my favorite Indian designers, Farah Khan Ali. Did you know, she is yet known for owning the biggest rock in Bollywood. Oh yes! our eyes pop at her sparkling 20ct round solitaire worth crores.
SONAM KAPOOR

Last but not the least, Sonam somehow always tends to win our hearts with her killer sense of style. Not because her style is a combination of elegance, quirkiness and being experimental but also because she nails it with a dash of “desi woman” in her attire, making a statement globally. Snow white like, she chose to wear an Elie Saab’s indian inspired collection gown and dazzled in Polki and round golden Pearl Maangtikka Mau.
StylePrer Tip- Its essential that bollywood celebrities and their stylist bring out the essence of our rich Indian Culture and promote the intricate handmade craftsmanship in India as they tend to set a bench mark for their fan following in India and Overseas.
