Screen Awards ’16 – Who wore what Jewellery!
From fan-girls rooting for their favourite celebs, to the fashion police watching like a hawk for shoes that don’t pair well with a gown- there are all kinds of people who tune in to award shows. But it’s one thing to scan the red carpet, enthralled by cameras flashing at the next celeb arrival and quite another matter to sit down a day or two later to actually look at what they wore. Now that we know who the Best Actor and Actress were, it’s time to see who wore what jewellery. After all, the red carpet is where most trends start!
DEEPIKA PADUKONE

She always manages to stand out on the red carpet – and this time was no different. A white, layered, uneven hemline was the highlight of this dress. The top beautifully cinched her waist and provided contrast. Deepika kept her jewellery simple with drop earrings, but we feel she could have carried off her “tribal goddess” look further with a multi finger ring.
JACQUELINE FERNANDES

Looking absolutely stunning in her white chiffon indo-western outfit, we think Jacqueline Fernandes got everything right. We love how the multi layered chaandbaalis keep her looking minimalistic.
SHILPA SHETTY

Looking gorgeous in a glittering maroon gown, Shilpa Shetty did the right thing by keeping her earrings and neck piece away. The floral statement ring kept her from looking completely devoid of accessories and finished off the ensemble well.
ATHIYA SHETTY

We love the “Hero” stars’ flowing crimson pink gown, interesting neckline and jewelled clutch – but she seems to have forgotten to accessorize at all! A blush toned watch with a second band of interlocking chain links would add some much needed bling to the attire. Athiya could alternatively have opted for a hand harness for a bit of gypsy – bohemian feel.
ESHA GUPTA

Donning an Indian outfit in black and gold, Esha didn’t let the metallic nature of her outfit scare her out of adorning it. Chunky multi-layer jhumka and an ear cuff set off her dark dupatta. Don’t miss her multi-finger ring.
JAYA BACHCHAN AND REKHA

One of the most talked about moments of the evening was the warm hug between Jaya Bachchan and Rekha who were seated next to each other. Rekha always manages to look spot on – and this time was no different. As if her gold silk sari wasn’t luxurious enough, she liberally accessorized with an assortment of gold bangles in different shapes and textures, heavy, hanging earrings and layered necklace that look a tad mismatched. Jaya kept things simple with a bold polki necklace, polki earrings and simple bangles. We wish she would have removed the red ones.
AND THE AWARD GOES TO… SONAKSHI SINHA

Looking svelte in her off shoulder, mermaid style dress, Sonakshi was the embodiment of femininity. Not only did she carry off the gown in style, her long, detailed earrings and intricate finger rings added the right touch. We wouldn’t change a single thing about her outfit.
StylePrer Feels – There were no blazing 15 carat diamonds or chunky chandelier earrings. In many cases, the dress had enough embellishment to negate the use of jewellery. We would have loved to see some more bling – being a red carpet event. But the dress is definitely where the attention is going.
