Free Medical Camp for Thane Traffic Police
Woke up to a lazy morning with constant sneezing and feeling under the weather. Seems its in the air and many are going through similar symptoms with climatic changes in the city. Forced myself to jump out bed with an assumption of resting through the day. Dint know the day would be an eventful one and yes for a great cause.
Jan Seva Foundation organised a free medical camp to check COPD – Cronic Obstructive Pulmonary Diseases and Asthma detection for the Thane Traffic Police.
Kalpana Chowdhary of Jan Seva Foundation quotes, “The same camp will soon be organised for Mumbai Traffic Police to bring health awareness and the necessary precautions the traffic police should take while being exposed to polluted areas. This check up in a hospital would otherwise cost approx Rs 2500.”
Being on board with Jan Seva Foundation I got the opportunity to be a part of the camp.
Dr Manish Sachdev educated us on how the respiratory test machine could analyse the level of disease. Among various reasons that causes COPD, he focused on diabetes and smoking being one of the cause for COPD. The testing kits and medicines were organised by Cipla.
Joint Commissioner, Thane District – V V Laxminarayana further mentioned, “This camp is very helpful. In a recent medical camp we tested the hearing capacity of the traffic police. We were surprised to detect hearing disorders in many with constant exposure to noise pollution.”
Chief Guest and MLA – Sanjay Kelkar Ji, DCP – Dr. Rashmi Karandikar, ACP – P V Mathadhikari, actively participated in the camp and congratulated Jan Seva Foundation for their noble work and will support us in making Mumbai Traffic Police camp a success.
